WHO WE ARE?

Asociación de Pequeños Productores Bananeros "El Guabo" APPBG) is an organization which gathers small and medium - sized producers, who grows and trade banana, in an associative way, keeping mandatory quality, social and safety standards, respecting the environment.

MISION

We are an organization of small - sized Ecuadorian producers, satisfying with high quality our customers' requests, under a fair trade system, seeking conditions improvements for our members and of our environment in social, environment and labour terms.

VISION

In 2008, APPBG, will be world leader of banana exports in the fair trade market, measuring logistics, diversifying our tropical products, being a role - model of socio - management organization, with participation in decisions of agricultural policy national.

MENSAJE

APPBG began its activities with 14 producers from Canton El Guabo, El Oro Province, trading directly to markets of Europe: Holland, Switzerland, Italy, Belgium, Austria, Finland, England, France and United States of America.

Until 2004, APPBG gathered 351 producers members from El Oro, Guayas and Azuay, from who 210 are conventional banana producers, 123 organic banana producers and 18 organic baby banana producers.

They are grouped at the same time, in 14 local agrarian associations, leaving , room for rising leaders and searching solutions for their problems.

APPBG administrative, operative and technical staff is suitable and professional, qualified for performing different duties round the c1ock; under a philosophy quality, equity social and environmental respect.
